Ashleigh Upton is a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist, known for her expertise in supporting individuals with a range of mental health concerns. Currently practicing at The Practice, Ash also collaborates with the Department of Defence, helping defence personnel manage and overcome various mental health challenges.
Ashleigh is actively pursuing a PhD in Health Literacy at the University of Newcastle, focusing on health literacy, obesity, and disordered eating. Her academic and practical experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationship between mental health and physical well-being.
With a diverse background, Ashleigh has worked in a variety of settings, including university outpatient clinics, not-for-profit organizations, and private hospitals. Most recently, she was part of the team at Northside Clinic, whereby she treated individuals with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
Ashleigh has experience working with individuals facing a broad spectrum of concerns, such as mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, personality disorders, substance use, and trauma. She utilizes evidence-based therapies, including Maudsley Family-Based Therapy, ACT, DBT, CBT, and CBT-E, to deliver a client-centered approach that focuses on individual needs.
