Vanessa Morgan

Clinical Psychology Registrar

Vanessa is passionate about mental health and wellbeing. She is a compassionate psychologist who values listening to the individual experience of each person and applies an accepting and non-judgemental approach to all her work. She has worked with adults, older adults, and young people in a variety of mental health settings including research, government community services, and hospital settings. Vanessa has experience working with people with a range a presentations and personal difficulties including anxiety, depression, anger, personality disorders, psychosis, and self-harm. She has a special interest in how physical health relates to psychological wellbeing and considers a wholistic perspective when working with clients.

Vanessa works from an evidence-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Enhanced (CBT-E) approach for eating disorders and incorporates Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Self-Compassion, and mindfulness based principles to suit client needs. She also applies traditional Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) where appropriate.

Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology and Postgraduate Certificate in Health Psychology in the UK. She obtained her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the Australian Catholic University in Sydney. She holds memberships with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Vanessa is available on Thursday (telehealth only) and Friday.
