Dr Cornelia Kauffman
Dr Cornelia Kaufmann is a general adult psychiatrist with a special interest in eating disorders and mood disorders. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Australian and New Zealand Psychiatrists. Dr Kaufmann is consulting at The Practice, and also provides private inpatient and outpatient services at the Northside Clinic, Greenwich. After completing her basic psychiatric training in Sydney at Royal North Shore Hospital, Manly Hospital and Hornsby-Kuring-Gai Hospital, Dr Kaufmann has spent the last 2 years of her advanced training in psychiatry at the Northside Clinic Greenwich working in the specialty field of eating disorders and mood disorders.
Dr Kaufmann has expertise in the treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. She adopts a holistic and tailored approach to management with the use of both pharmacological treatment as well as psychological techniques, especially CBT and ACT as well as some DBT.
Dr Kaufmann is also a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and is responsible for teaching of medical students in psychiatry.
