Anthea Staines

Clinical Psychology Registrar

Anthea is a supportive and empathic psychologist who works in a collaborative and non-judgmental manner with clients. She completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Sydney and Masters of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She currently holds membership with Australian Psychological Society’s Clinical College, and uses evidence-based approaches to both assessment and treatment.

Anthea has worked in public health care settings, schools, and research settings. She has experience working with a wide range of concerns in children (anxiety and behavioural management), adolescents and adults (depression, anxiety, stress, self-harm and suicidal ideation, trauma, and self-esteem concerns).

Anthea incorporates techniques from a variety of approaches in clinical work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
